Brisbane Seafood & Wine Festival 2006

I have been meaning to go to the Brisbane Seafood and Wine festival for sometime now (Its actually called Caxton Street Seafood & Wine Festival 2006), I remember a few friends went last year and they called it the Fish & Chips and Beer festival. Didn’t exactly make me want to go this year, but given that its on Sunday and I got pretty much nothing to do I might go this year.

According to organizers :

Fresh oysters, crabs, prawns and fish will be the flavour of the day when Brisbane’s largest street party kicks off on Sunday, 30th April for the annual Caxton Street Seafood and Wine Festival 2006.

The Festival has become one of Brisbane’s favourites with thousands swarming to the street each year to sample cuisine from the entertainment precinct’s famous restaurants. Plus there are two stages with live performances from some of Australia’s most talented acts.

The Festival runs from 11:00am until 10:00pm. Entry by gold coin donation to the Courier Mail Children’s Fund. The street will be closed to all.

Hmm sounds interesting doesn’t it? Might be worth going to.

Well, what can I say. I was great plent of seafood, plenty of Vodka and even a bit of rain. It was a graet day starting around 10am at Gambaros on the deck, and finishing up at the Caxton approx 10pm
it is an event that should never be missed no matter what.
    Cheers

definately worth checking out…went last year and had fun and this year they have a pretty good band line up to go with it

just one thing though…other sites are saying that’s it’s a $10 entry fee and a portion of that goes to the charity, not a gold coin donation as entrance

  4. Alice:

It could well be a $10 entry this time. I’m not too sure.
I must admit- I wrote that last year! I’ll have to go again this year so I can update it!
