Last weekend I was in Brisbane to visit a good friend of mine. Monday which was the Queen’s Birthday, we went for a walk in the Westend. From all the bars located in the Westend only Lychee Lounge caught our eyes. The bar its really welcoming and the decor its really chic, also they have a really good selection of cocktails and the food was superb.

What I can say is, that if y’re going to be in Brisbane, make sure to make a visit to Lychee Lounge, its the only place in the whole city that can offers you a great night…….

The one time I have been to the Lychee Lounge I thought it was pretty pretentious. The decor is really cool and the staff are nice etc but please, reserving tables at a west end bar? Not to mention the schmiddies they serve which are totally over-priced. I thought it was pretty crap, but if youre someone from the valley or city who’s popped over to hang out in the ‘new’ valley, youll probably like it.

Yeh I can see your point Jim, I mean every time i’m in West End I somehow always find myself in there. Guess service has to take a slump sometimes - and as luck has it - it’s usually the night you go in to review it.
Plus (with all due luv n respect Al) Al’s probably into a slightly different scene.

i have always found the food at lychee to be good and although sometimes tardy i don’t go there to rush,other people must like the food too since they won best bar food in bars&clubs annual bar show i suggest you give them another shot

I hear that a guy named Pete (who is pretty famous in South Carolina) was at this club last night…he’s awesome so if he was there…then it is THE place to be!!

So small is the entrance that I had walked past it at least 100 times before without even noticing there was something in there. Okay I’ll admit, we didn’t actually find the place by accident, we received an email from the manager of Zomba asking us if we had ever visited Zomba, and if not, we should come and check it out. How can you say no to that? We don’t generally get invited (nor do we expect it), mainly because our reviewing is based on solid personal experience as oppose to how much we got paid (that would be nice though), or how drunk we got on the ‘provided alcohol’. Nonetheless, this was a genuine invitation and given how much I love West End, there was no reason to even think twice about it. [...]
