I attended the concert at Suncorp on Sunday and would like to say that the entertainment was excellent! Anna- Maria La Spina was wonderful. Great to see entertainers that have been in the industry for years....Eg. Enza Pantano, Peter Cupples.

Congratulations to all involved.

Official Italian Week in Queensland June 2nd –6th 2007
Dr. Francesco Capecchi, Italian Consul for Queensland and Northern Territory is pleased to communicate the launch of Italian Week 2007– this official event is in its first year in Brisbane and celebrates the ‘Festa della Repubblica’ which marks the 61stanniversary of Italian Republic Day in 1946. This year’s events include a free concert by Italian Pop Rock bank TRIM which will open the festivities on the 2nd of June at 2.00pm at Suncorp Piazza at Southbank Parklands.
On the 5th and 6th of June, we present‘... Arrivi ... Partenze’ (arrivals and departures) an original dance theatre piece produced by Alessandro Sorbello, performed by DADAdance and choreographed by Boris Bivona which features a live performance of ‘Moving’ by guitar virtuoso Jaider De Oliveira. The three performances which will premiere at the Cremorne theatre are inspired by the phenomenon of Italian immigration in Australia in XXI Century and explore the issue of movement and its various meanings: necessary condition for the human being, expression form and communication medium; need of a group resulting in nomadism and migration. The multimedia performance incorporates the use of music, dance, acting, video projections and various other art forms and is supported by the Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Lindy Nelson Carr.
The Cast and Crew of ‘... Arrivi ... Partenze’ are honoured by the presence of Italian Ambassador in Australia H.E Stefano Starace Janfolla and Mrs Marcia Ann Starace Janfolla who will attend the Australian premiere on the 5th of June. The ambassador and his wife have decided to fly from Canberra for this special occasion.
‘... Arrivi ... Partenze’ is a New Realm Media Production and part of the proceeds from this event go to support The Hear and Say Centre in Brisbane. More information is available at www.ItalianWeek.com.au

[...] Seems like Festivals are never ending. With the highly disappointing Italian Festival leaving a sour taste in everyone’s mouth, I started wondering why I even bother with festivals. I have been reading about the Brisbane Festival for some time, and no matter how hard I try, I can’t find anything in their program list that makes me want to even think about going to the festival. The Brisbane Festival 14th - 30th July 2006 http://www.brisbanefestival.com.au Location : Everywhere from the Powerhouse to Southbank and the City. [...]
