Good on you for asking. I wonder if they imagine 'the young people' to be the Straight Out of Brisbane crowd, so leave it to that festival to offer anything that might not have a guaranteed turn up. I was equally perplexed about who the target audience would be but just thought it was another one of those things I don't understand about Brisbane. Could the organisers be trying to cater for the city's schizophrenic identity with the population apparently undergoing a big process of change? I am, after all, another one of those invaders from the South, so am poorly qualified to speculate...

They still haven't replied, its been four days, but nonetheless, it shows something about the event and the organizers, they probably don't take this site seriously, which is a loss to them given we are getting some 500 unique hits a day.

Nevertheless, the festival is going to be a big waste of effort, all that is on offer is plays / musicals and the like. Sure thats fine, but you need different ideas to attract people like me who look for something fun and exciting to go and see. I am sure I will check out the festival one way or another simply to review it.
